Window Display Autumn 2023
The 2023 Autumn Campaign for Hermès Germany was developed based on the annual theme “Astonishment”. D’étonnement en étonnement. Whilst the 2023 Autumn windows were based on the same theme as the Spring windows, the interpretation has changed drastically. We no longer observe an astonishing happenstance, but we witness the reaction of astonishment caused to the main character in each window by a surprising situation.
The windows can be looked at as stop-frames into timeless funny-scenes: a carpet jumping in the middle of the room after a mouse-wallet comes out of the wall, a painting palette shocked at the fact that colours jump out of a painting, or a kite that’s astonished after seeing that the water coming from the clouds is not rain. The playful protagonists are realised in high-quality materials such as massive wood, leather, rug textiles or glass, and framed in beautifully padded set-ups.
All windows are made sustainably, in both material and method, in partnership with highly select European artisans and manufacturers.
